Wigilia, a tradition common amongst Central Europe, is a Christmas Eve supper. Chef Grace’s family has celebrated this tradition for generations. You will learn some of the family recipes that are enjoyed on Christmas Eve along with some of the symbolic traditions that take place during the meal. More than just a meal, Wigilia is a celebration of togetherness, blessing, and hope for the year ahead, and Chef Grace cannot wait to show you this very special tradition. 

Chef Grace Goudie's passion for cooking began at a young age and led her to the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, CA. She has worked at Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc and The French Laundry, one of the top-rated restaurants in the world, before making her way back to the Chicago area, where she was the Executive Chef at Arlington Heights' Scratchboard Kitchen. She is also a "Chopped" champ. Since our Makerplace opening in fall 2021, Chef Grace has been a regular instructor in our kitchen, sharing the secrets to her signature composed, but not complicated cooking.

Space is limited. This class is designed for adults 18+. Culinary classes are limited to one class per month, per Arlington Heights cardholder. Register any time from 9 p.m. December 2 to 8:59 a.m. December 3 to join the lottery for a chance to attend. Individuals will be chosen at random and notified by email on December 3.
