Illinois residents can renew and purchase their 2022 and 2023 license plate stickers at the library’s Checkout Desk. You will need: 

  • Your Illinois Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice, current registration card, or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) 
  • Your current driver's license and license plate number. 

Please Note: If your vehicle needs to pass an emissions test or you do not have a valid driver’s license, the Library will be unable to renew your license plate. 2022 stickers available until March 31, 2022.

Cost and Service Fees 
• $7.50 service fee per sticker 
• $5 service fee per sticker if paying by credit card (no additional charge if paying with cash) 
• $151 for a standard plate (cost varies for personalized, vanity, and other plates) 
• Cash or credit accepted.  Checks not accepted. (Charges will reflect payment to Arlington Heights Memorial)

Stickers are nonrefundable once purchased

Location and Hours for Renewal Sticker Service 
This service is available 7 days a week at the Checkout Desk, opening until ½ hour before closing. 

Family Member Renewals 
A family member can only purchase a renewal sticker if their ID address is the same as the address listed on the vehicle’s registration card.

All donated items are tax deductible. Drop off your donation at the Tech Learning Center.

Accepted items include:

  • Cell phones
  • Laptops and eReaders
  • Inkjet cartridges
  • MP3 players
  • Digital cameras
  • Handheld games
  • GPS devices and radar detectors
  • Graphing calculators
  • Gold, silver and platinum

Appliances, computer monitors/towers and printers are not accepted.

Register to vote at the Info Desk. Registrations are not taken in the 28 days before an election.

To register, you must be:

  • A U.S. citizen
  • At least 18 years of age by the general election
  • A resident of the precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day
  • You can also register online with the Cook County Clerk's Office

Please bring two forms of identification, with at least one showing your current residence address.

The library offers free test proctoring services for Arlington Heights cardholders only.

Test proctoring is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. by appointment only. Please provide at least one week's notice.

For online tests using a computer, you can check out a laptop on your library card for the duration of the test.
