Event Description

Currently on display at the Art Institute of Chicago, this new lecture from Jeff Mishur of Art Excursions - Beauty, History and Romance - celebrates the work of William Morris. Join us for this captivating presentation and deeper look into the work of the Morris' and the Arts and Crafts Movement.

Artist William Morris founded his first decorative arts design firm in 1861. Over the following decades he collaborated with his wife, Jane Burden, along with fellow artists and became a leading contributor to the English Arts and Crafts movement. In this online presentation, art historian Jeff Mishur discusses works by Morris and his colleagues, including paintings, furniture, stained glass, textiles and decorative arts.
