Event Description
Join us for a special screening of Stanley Kubrick’s Sci-Fi masterpiece, 2001: A Space Odyssey, with film historian and host Raymond Benson. First released 1968, one year before man walked on the Moon, 2001 delivered the most realistic depiction of future space travel to movie audiences. It also became THE water-cooler movie of the year in terms of philosophical and analytical discussion—“But what did it all mean??” Word of mouth propelled the controversial and ahead-of-its-time film to be the #1 box office winner of the year. Settle in with us to enjoy a screening of the full film (with brief intermission and refreshments) followed by a discussion led by Benson.
