Join us for a multi-generational discussion of the young adult historical fiction novel We Are Not Free by Traci Chee, our teen title for our One Book One Village program.

We Are Not Free is told from the perspectives of fourteen second-generation Japanese-American teens from Japantown, San Francisco whose lives are turned upside down when they - and over 100,000 people of Japanese ancestry - are removed from their homes and forced into desolate incarceration camps during World War II.

Pick up a copy of the book at the Hub or Info desk at the library.

For teens and adults in grades 7 and up.

This program is presented as part of One Book, One Village.

To request accommodations, please contact us at 847-392-0100 or youthprograms@ahml.info prior to the event.
