Event Description

Join us for a time of connection and festivity as we celebrate the debut of our new Accessibility Support Collection in Kids’ World, generously made possible by C.I.T.Y. of Support (Children in Therapy and You). This special collection of print materials, therapeutic toys and tools, has been created to serve families with youth with disabilities or receive therapy services and service providers.

Celebrate in the Hendrickson Room as we dance along with Loren Goodman, music therapist from Prospect Music Therapy and Laura Kowalski from Hop Along Yogi for an interactive family music and movement experience.  Our Youth Librarians will offer a sensory storytime and various play stations throughout the space. The Lindsey Room will offer a calming space with sensory supports. Throughout the evening, find support and resources in our community and in the library, including checking out our brand-new Accessibility Support Collection in Kids’ World. Items from the collection will be available to explore and check out.

An inclusive event designed with supports to help all kids have fun and be successful. Best for families with children with disabilities or receive therapy services. All are welcome. Please contact the library if your party requires any special accommodations.

Presented as part of Inclusion Awareness Month.

Safety precautions in place according to current, local mitigation guidelines. To request accessibility accommodations, please contact us at 847-392-0100 or accessibility@ahml.info prior to the event.
