Event Description

Join us for the second film in Matt Lauterbach's Filmmaker-in-Residence takeover.

As city comptroller of Dixon, IL, Rita Crundwell stole $53 million of public funds across 20 years, making her the perpetrator of the largest case of municipal fraud in American history. This film investigates her crime, her lavish lifestyle and the small town she left in her wake. Not rated; 70 mins. The film will be followed by a discussion and Q&A facilitated by the film's editor Lesley Kubistal, with Matt.

This film is a part of Wider Lens, a program series featuring film documentaries that spark conversation. This is the second in a three part takeover series by Matt Lauterbach. Look for the next Wider Lens showing, Kartemquin Films Minding the Gap, May 16th at 7pm.
