Spend an evening with Laurie Wallmark, award winning author of three biographical picture books about women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math). In addition to already winning 7 awards, her book Grace Hopper: Queen of Computer Code is nominated for the 2020 Bluestem award, which is voted on by elementary children in Illinois. Laurie has an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts, as well as degrees in biochemistry and information systems. When not writing, she teaches computer science at Raritan Valley Community College, and courses on writing for children.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Following her 45-minute presentation, there will be a book signing. Books will be available for purchase courtesy of The Book Stall.
