Family Member Renewals
A family member can only purchase a renewal sticker if their ID address is the same as the address listed on the vehicle’s registration card.

Here is more information about the library's license plate renewal service:

Why do we charge service fees?
We contracted with a vendor to provide this service through the Secretary of State. The $7.50 service fee represents the cost associated with the vendor. In addition, the library pays a small fee per transaction to credit card providers.

What do I need to bring to renew a license plate?
To renew a license plate, please bring your current vehicle registration card or postcard sent by the Secretary of State. This contains your Registration ID, Pin, and Plate Number, which are needed for renewal. If you do not have a Registration ID and Pin, the vehicle’s VIN number is required. Please also be prepared to show your driver’s license.

When and where can I purchase a license plate sticker?
Stickers are purchased at the Checkout Desk located on the first floor of the library. This service is available seven days a week, from opening until 30 minutes before closing.

Can I purchase a license plate sticker for a family member?
A family member can only purchase a sticker if their ID address is the same as the vehicle’s registration.

Can I change my address on my registration?
Yes. You can only change the address on your registration to match your driver’s license address.

If the address on your driver’s license and the address on your registration are the same, you need nothing more. If the address on your driver’s license is incorrect, we can still issue the sticker but cannot update your address.

If you have any questions, please call at 847-392-0100 or chat the library at ahml.info.
