NOTES

"Every unfavorable comment upon Lincoln's character or work has been collected and heaped together in a crazy-quilt work." LA Times, Sept. 25, 1904 In this 1904 book the author attempts to correct misperceptions about Abraham Lincoln and offers evidence to support his contentions. About the author: Charles Landon Carter Minor (December 3, 1835 - July 13, 1903) was the first president of the Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College (now known as Virginia Tech), Virginia's new land-grant institution. Minor, a native of Hanover County, Virginia, held a master's degree from the University of Virginia and had served as combat and staff officer in the Confederate Army. During the Civil War, Minor served under General Stonewall Jackson and saw action at Manassas and in battles around Richmond
