NOTES

Ask yourself, why was Moby Dick so dangerous and cantankerous? Was it because he was white? No, it was because he was different, in color, size, and attitude than other whales. It's what distinguished him from them. He was mean and ornery because of his demeanor, and he had a strong instinct that drove him to exist and retaliate against those that were his oppressors. The protagonist of our story, "The Last Angry Word," Marianna Del Rosario, is also "different" and driven by an overwhelming desire for retribution and her right to exist. So too did, Loren Bentley, an innocent 19 year-old male freshman from Bristol, England entering the University of Texas at Austin. By providence, The question is, what is Marianna's connection to Loren and his frat group lead by, Adrian Niles. On a spring break trip, Adrian and the others rape, batter, castrate and then attempt to drown Loren in a Mexican lake. Will he die, or will a miracle afford him to survive and have a second chance at life? 13 years later, after Don Francisco is murdered in New York, the CIA desires Marianna's assistance to track down her father's killers and a drug smuggling operation going on within her shipping company. She uses the opportunity to receive ambassador status and immunity, whereby she then vents her pent up anger as she returns to the U.S. to exact her vengeance against the men who once tried to kill Loren Bentley. How she does it and what happens along the way is what makes it all unique and suspenseful. Who is Marisanna? Is she his twin sister, a cousin, or some old girlfriend? Scot Randall, a handsome young FBI agent that had once investigated the disappearance of two young men, including Loren Bentley, now years later, he wnds up winds up being assigned to find out why the others of that same original group of seven men were now being mutilated and murdered one by one in horrifying ways. By chance, Scot meets Marianna while interviewing and accompanying Adrian Niles to a Dallas social event. That encounter leads Scot to become enthralled by this gorgeous, intelligent Latino woman. Before the story ends, he has fallen in love, shared with her a nighttime Amazon jungle survival adventure, and then after their first intimate moment, he is stunned by the "slap your forehead" ending when he sees her naked derriere reflected in the mirror as she enters her bath…for on it is something shared by all the male victims of the UT fraternity club. This is a story about the power of money and the privileges that wealth affords those that have it. It is about attempting to track down a killer and a story that contains issues of sexuality, deception, of betrayal, of loyalty, of devotion and defining gender identity. It is at times a violent story, fraught with dangerous carnage. The reader will be thrust into the mind of someone bent on the settling of a score and will become a witness to unspeakable cruelties and crimes. This story commands that the reader delve deep inside his or her own psyche…and to view this situation as it might apply to them. Though malice is the obvious intent and the motive payback, Loren Bentley's life might just be one that deserves a second look/ In the end, only the reader can decide what to think of Loren or how to judge him or Marianna..This unique story will entertain, shock, and amuse you with moments of eclectic humor…then, just when you think it has ended, it takes a 180-degre turn and deposits you deep into the bowels of another adventure about sabotage, drug cartels, romance, and ultimately one of survival. It is a psycholgical tale of intrigue and mystery
