NOTES

Collins Shorts - insight in an instant. Learn the techniques you need to become an expert navigator, without reliance on technology. Discover the basic principles of navigation in this clever and concise guide to how to find your way anywhere in the world - without Sat Nav. Collins Shorts are a fresh look at the ebook short, with the emphasis on vibrant design, animated content and expert authors who can provide accessible insight. They satisfy your thirst for knowledge without the need for time commitment. This ebook will work on all e-readers but delivers its full punch on devices that support colour and animation. Please note the extent is between 20 to 40 pages, depending on your settings. A collection of short ebooks, each one focussing on a compelling subject that can be read in just 10 minutes, from bestselling titles and authors from the Collins list such as Brian Cox, David Attenborough and Kevin McCloud. Aimed at the time-pressured intelligent reader welded to their digital device, with a short attention span and prone to skimming, desperately seeking quality content that imparts insight and fulfilment in as short a time and with as little effort as possible. The four The Sugar Girls ebook shorts published in March 2012 at a 99p price point have sold over 80k copies across all ebook editions to date. We have also sold over 28k copies of the extract Karren Brady's 10 Rules for Success from Strong Woman, Karren's business autobiography. We have been able to demonstrate that these ebook shorts have helped rather than cannibalise sales of the core book, as well as reaching and monetising a broader audience for whom price is a key consideration. We will cross-promote the other titles in the series and the original edition from which each short derives in the back of each ebook. Our aim is to be the first publisher to offer a dynamic, designed e-reading experience across all devices, from the most basic black and white ereaders to high-tech colour tablets. The first shorts series will launch with 10 titles and publish October 2012, with more to follow in what will become an ongoing digital ebook series
