NOTES

Sri Aurobindo and the mother on the question of nutrition and the inner attitude towards eating in integral yoga. Attachment to food, greed and craving for it make it an unduly important thing in life that goes against the spirit of yoga. There is nothing wrong with establishing that something tastes good, you just must not desire it or strive for it, neither cheer when you receive it, nor be disgruntled or sad when you do not receive it. One must be calm and indifferent, one must not become excited or dissatisfied if the food is not tasty or very plentiful, but one has to eat a certain necessary amount, no less and no more. There should be no craving or reluctance. Constantly thinking about the food and worrying about it is the wrong way to get rid of the appetite. Put the food element in its right place in life, a little corner, focus on other things and not on them
