The place was thought-provoking, however. Young intellectuals were engaging in political discussions and artistically expressing themselves through poetry. I wanted to be thought of as an intellectual as well. Though I must admit, most of the poetry went right over my head. I probably missed most of what was an author's intended meaning, but I responded to general images and impressions given in a particular poem to say whether I liked it or not
