From the novel by Nobel Prize laureate Naguib Mahfouz, Midaq Alley explores intersecting lives in Mexico City. Cantina owner Rutilio (Ernesto G̤mez Cruz) gives in to latent homosexual desires. His son, Chava (Juan Manuel Bernal), yearns to immigrate to America, while spinster Susanita (Margarita Sanz) dreams of a husband.
