NOTES
Title from title frames
This introduction to Video in the Villages gives an overview of the project's first two years. By recording and exchanging their own images, Amazonian native groups such as the Nambiquara, Caviao, Tikuna and Kaiapo preserve their culture and unite communities. In the hands of young Indian videomakers, recording equipment becomes a tool for political and ethnic affirmation, allowing them to document community works, important gatherings and interactions with government officials. Filmmaker: Vincent Carelli
