Following the end of the Slavic wars, a pregnant young woman returns from Germany to her village in Croatia. Despite her quiet, steadfast resistance, her family desperately tries to find her a suitable husband so she will fit into local customs and statutes, unaware that the child she is carrying was fathered by an Asian.
