NOTES

Title from title frames

Since the Baroque era of the 17th century, architects have been trying to cast off the Cartesian grid and traditional notions of beauty and proportion in architecture. Folds, Blobs + Boxes introduces today's digitally educated designers who are continuing to redefine architectural pedagogy and practice, producing forms that can be described as folds and blobs as well as the new digital boxes. The film visits the exhibition Folds, Blobs + Boxes at the Carnegie Museum of Art. Ten architect/designers discuss their approaches to digital architecture with Joseph Rosa, curator of the exhibition. With the participation of architects: Greg Lynn, Peter Stamberg, Paul Aferiat, Wes Jones, Douglas Garofalo, Jesse Reiser, Preston Scott Cohen, Joel Sanders, Sulan Kolatan, William MacDonald, Gregg Pasquarelli, and Christopher and William Sharples
