NOTES

Burn one down, take it in, do it again. That was what Roman Salt's life had been reduced to after several years of failed career starters in the guise of third-party cold-calling sales positions. It wasn't that he didn't want to get his career on track; he just stopped caring about taking the bs positions to fill the space in between. Dodging responsibility and his mother's "Have you found a job yet?" daily phone calls, he could pay most of his bills from month to month. Thanks to fantastically failed attempts at mating in his past, he barely went out, which was good considering he only had a job that at best leant itself to getting a steady supply of decent cheap weed, and not romantic dates to all of Boston's finest fast food establishments. Burn one down, take it in, do it again. Yup, life was good or at least passable for the college grad until seven mute muscle heads kidnapped him and f'd it all up. Salt wakes up alone in a glowing, white, doorless cell only to be spoken to by the walls of the cell and pass out again. When he wakes up again he is told everybody he ever knew is dead, and he's introduced to other subjects, just like him, who are all part of a mass weapons test that ends with one guy holding the gun. To survive, Salt will have to find out if the value of his life is worth all the killing
