Bogey's Spook is the third book in a trilogy starring the trainer Bogey Dawson and his wife Becky. In this book, they encounter a powerful white colt they call Spook and find their destinies intertwined with a young jockey named Hank. Together they face a range of obstacles, finally a do or die showdown. Bogey Dawson and his wife Becky take in an orphaned teenager with high ambitions. Hank is enthralled and ready to help her until the loan shark asks him to deliberately lose a race on Spook. Hank is torn between his sympathy and affection for Dot and his love for Spook who has been a pet - almost a brother - to him.
