A short Bedtime story about friendship.Swerlie-Wherlie, a young piglet, is woken up at the crack of dawn by Cockie the Cockerel.Not happy about this, he falls out with Cockie and decides to get away from the farm for a bit of peace and quiet.An unexpected meeting with a grass snake leads to an unusual friendship, which is made when they both find themselves in big trouble.They both rise to the occasion and find that a friend in need is a real friend indeed. The author was born in Manchester. On leaving school, a period in accountancy was followed by a teaching career in Primary Education.Several years of telling his own stories to his two, then young children, when on camping holidays, led to the development of his many story characters, especially Bouncey the Elf.
