Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson received a highly sensitive letter from Turin. The venerable Cardinal Maurilio Fassati himself requested the master detective's help in an extremely delicate matter. The Shroud of Turin had been stolen from the Chapel of the Holy Shroud in the Cathedral! And just before Easter! A disaster! Holmes and Watson decided to leave for Turin immediately.
