Read by Duncan Daniels

Soapbox Hero follows the journey of Toby, a young Venice Beach surfer whose life is upended when his mother tragically passes away. Forced to move to Akron, Ohio, to live with his estranged biological father, Toby struggles to adjust to a new life in a small town far from the ocean he loves. Feeling out of place and burdened by grief, Toby is disconnected from his father and the unfamiliar surroundings. In Akron, Toby unexpectedly discovers soapbox derby racing-a local tradition with deep roots in the community. Drawn to the thrill of the sport and eager to find a new sense of purpose, Toby teams up with two fellow outcasts, Milo and Riley. Together, they form an unlikely trio, bonding over their shared desire to prove themselves both on the track and in life. As Toby learns to navigate the challenges of derby racing, he also begins to rebuild his relationship with his father and find healing in his new passion
