In a series of letters addressed to the President, Sam shares his thoughts on his plans, plans that change over the course of the story as Sam debates the pros and cons of building a wall with his parents and brother, learns about other walls built throughout the ages, and begins to see that sometimes the best solution to a problem is one that involves discussion, understanding and compromise, rather than ultimatums. At one level, a simple, believable tale about two siblings who have to share a room, this charming, and somewhat subversive, story will also encourage conversation with young children about tolerance, learning to live with others, and the importance of recognizing other points of view."--
