Scout Visits

Arlington Heights-based Scout groups can request a facilitated visit to earn their badges at the main library or the library’s Makerplace twice per school year between September and May.

Request a visit using the Scout Visit Request Form at least 2 weeks in advance.

Girl Scouts can complete their badge requirements and Cub Scouts can fulfill a portion of their badge requirements during their visit. Options for Scout visits are listed below.

Makerplace Visits

The library’s Makerplace is located at 112 N. Belmont Ave.

Requests for a visit to the Makerplace are best for Scouts grades 4 and up, and are made based on availability. Badges and activities offered are the same at both the main library and the Makerplace. If there is time, staff can take Scouts on a tour of the Makerplace at the end of the visit.

Waivers are required for each Scout signed by a parent or guardian. Completed waivers must be brought at the time of the visit.

Service Hours

The library is a great place for Scouts to fulfill service hour requirements. There are monthly volunteer opportunities for tweens (grades 4–6) and teens (grades 7–12).

Contact youthprograms@ahml.info with any questions about fulfilling service hours at the library.
