Local Author Collection

The library has a donation-based local author collection, which features books for all ages written by authors who are residents of Arlington Heights.

For a Book to Be Considered:

  • The author must be a current resident of Arlington Heights and have an Arlington Heights Memorial Library card. 
  • The author agrees to donate one physical copy of the item to the library.
  • The author agrees that the library makes the final determination for inclusion in the collection.  

Items Accepted for the Collection:

  • must be bound and in new condition; hardcovers are preferred
  • must not be AI-generated
  • become the property of Arlington Heights Memorial Library
  • will be added as time permits
  • will be withdrawn according to the library’s Materials Selection Policy

Items donated to the library are the property of the library and will not be returned to the author if not added to the collection. 

To submit your title for consideration, drop off or send a copy to the address below. Your name and library card number must be included with the item.
