Computers & Printing

The Tech Learning Center on the first floor offers a wide range of technology for customer use as well as in-person classes on the latest technology.

Staff are available to support library technology and guide customers to helpful resources. For in-depth questions, Arlington Heights cardholders request a 30-minute appointment.

Internet Use Policy

Computers & Wi-Fi

Computers are available for two-hour sessions, and extensions are permitted based on availability. These Windows 11 and iMac computers are located on the library’s first floor and can be accessed with a library card or computer use card (available at the Checkout Desk). Express stations are also available for 15-minute sessions without a card.  

Wi-Fi is available throughout the library and underground parking garage. Hotspots are available for checkout for internet access outside the library. 

Printing & Copying

Printers and copiers are available near the Tech Learning Center on the first floor.

Wireless printing is also available. Send print jobs from anywhere here, then pay for and print them at the library.

Costs

  • 5¢/black & white legal or letter page, 10¢/ledger page
  • 40¢/color legal or letter page, 80¢/ledger page

Veteran and armed forces library cardholders may print up to the cost equivalent of 100 black and white letter pages per week at no charge. 

Scanning & Faxing

Scanning and faxing stations are available in the Tech Learning Center. Documents and photos can be scanned into a PDF, JPEG, TIFF or Word document. Additional scanners are available in the Studio. 

Laptops & Charging Cables

Arlington Heights cardholders may check out a laptop and charging cables at the Tech Learning Center Desk, available for use within the library for two hours with extensions based on availability. 

Flash Drives, Earbuds & Discs 

Flash drives, earbuds, DVDs and CDs are available for purchase at the Checkout Desk.

Costs

  • DVD-Rs/CD-Rs: 75¢ each
  • Earbuds: $3.30 each
  • Flash Drives (16GB): $6.60 each
