The library’s Reading Room branch at the Senior Center is fully open to browse and check out materials. The Senior Center is now available as a pick up location for holds. 

The Arlington Heights Senior Center is a multi-agency service facility located at 1801 West Central Road. The library's Reading Room, located in the facility, allows our customers to visit us and take advantage of "one-stop shopping" for other services, such as arts and crafts, fitness, referral and assistance programs, and volunteer opportunities for older adults. Reading Room Hours
Monday - Friday: 9 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m.– 12:30 p.m.

The Reading Room

Our collection of popular books (including the latest books available in large print), magazines, DVDs, CDs and audiobooks are all available for checkout.  In addition to local and Chicago newspapers, Barron's and the Wall Street Journal are available to read in our comfortable reading areas.

Arlington Heights cardholders may select the Senior Center as a pick up location for holds from the library.

Returns
Returns of Arlington Heights library materials, including Reading Room items, can be made in the Reading Room or after hours in the outside book drop to the west of the Senior Center entrance.

Book donations  
We are unable to accept book donations until further notice.

Tech Classes

Classes taught by and designed especially for adults over 55 are held at the Senior Center. PC-based classes and a variety of iPad and iPhone classes feature small class size and hands-on instruction. Students can choose from a range of classes depending on their skill level.

Computer Room

The library maintains a computer room at the Senior Center. Computer workstations are equipped with large-print keyboards, 19-inch flat-screen monitors, the latest version of Microsoft Office and high-speed internet access. Computer use is limited to one-hour.

Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 9 a.m.– 2 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays 11 a.m.– 2 p.m.
