One seemingly ordinary, sunny fall day, 6-year-old Millie chimed up from the back seat, "Hey Mama, do you know my favorite color?" "No," replied her mom, "What is it?" "It's the Moon!" exclaimed Millie matter of factly. "Hmmm…thought Millie's mom, Alison. That's interesting." For the next week the phrase "The Moon is my favorite color" danced around in Alison's head until one day she sat down and let the story pour onto paper. This is that story; the story of a little girl who thinks outside the box of crayons, and opens herself up to a world of new colors. In doing so, she finds a new way of seeing the Moon - and life. And she shows us how, with a little imagination and time, we can all expand our views. Alison Van De Pol is a Human Design Specialist, Holistic Health, and Registered Nurse. She is a serial learner who loves her sauna, family walks, and all things spiritual. She lives just outside of Des Moines, Iowa, with her husband and children. She is an oil painter, who specializes in painting children's portraits. Jill regularly exhibits her paintings in shows and galleries. She dedicates her free time to bringing art into her local community and enjoys creating art-focused events that engage creatives of all ages. She lives with her husband, Dennis and dog, Frida, in Dallas Center, Iowa, just outside of Des Moines. She has three grown children; John, Ellen and Charles
