New York City police detective Artie Lewis is a good cop. Devoted to his job, his loving wife Rita and longtime partner Stevie Diroma it's always been Artie's nature to do the right thing -- until his world is abruptly shattered by Stevie's death in the line of duty. Left to pick up the pieces of not only his own life, but also the lives of his partner's three orphaned daughters who have been left in his care, Artie is torn between doing what he feels is best for the kids and what he knows is right by law. Faced with the conflict that on a cop's salary he can't afford, and won't be permitted to keep the three orphans -- and yet cannot bring himself to part with them -- a desperate Artie finds himself straddling the fine line between his ethical code and surrendering to the corrupt ways of the street. Now, he must make the most difficult choice of his life: will he abandon his principles in order to keep his family together -- or will he remain a good cop?
