We meet a broad group of young people in Perth, trying to understand the complications of living in the 21st-century, making the most of the freedoms and opportunities it offers, but struggling to come to terms with the complicated world that relationships present. Once again as Father Ed, one of the characters in the book, said about a play he saw, "it makes you laugh, but it also makes you think"
