The houses were very sophisticated for a primitive culture, since they were built with a heating system called ondol. #4 The legend of Hwanung and Ungnyeo, which dates back to 7th century China, tells the story of a god who wanted to live on earth. He was the son of the Lord of Heaven, Hwanin. Hwanung was granted the assistance of the spirits of the Rain, Wind, and Clouds in his quest to find land on earth, and he descended on Paektu Mountain with his followers
