NOTES

When Sharon McKinney met Kendra Matthews five years ago, she immediately sensed a threat to her marriage. Her husband Dale's assurances that his mentoring relationship with Kendra was nothing to be concerned about proved to be wrong. After surviving a corporate scandal and sensing divine intervention, both Dale and Kendra changed careers to follow what they believed was their God-ordained work. Although they live in different cities, the bonds between their families and friends are not easily broken. Kendra married Eric Daniels and returned to Dallas, Texas to teach high school Physics. Days after being nominated for Science Teacher of the Year, the unimaginable happens. Living in her childhood home surrounded by memories of her mother, Kendra struggles with fears of failure and self-doubt. In the midst of Kendra's personal battle, her best friend, Jessica, takes desperate actions to get Jonathan, the married father of her child, with unexpected consequences. Dale went to seminary to be equipped for God's work. After becoming disillusioned with Christian counseling, he joins a small St. Louis congregation to lead their new Bible study program. A few months into his new job, the senior pastor dies, leaving Dale as the interim replacement. He reluctantly discovers that the challenges of leadership are universal. As Dale's faith grows through adversity, Sharon's faith in both God and her husband wavers. As life presents a series of perceived failures, Kendra, Dale, Sharon and Jonathan question what they believe to be true and their ability to discern their Shepherd's voice
