NOTES

Life is full of ups-and-downs for all of us. In this book, I suggest that our present-day actions and conclusions are greatly influenced by our past, experiences. I outline my experience at being brought up on an aboriginal mission station and participating in a local government centric career to try and put some logic into the illogical, and often taboo, subjects of politics and religion. Throughout my career, I developed a mantra that has never failed me: 'Always believe a politician will act like a politician and you will never be disappointed when they do.' I identify a case, where a community was dudded out of $10 million. I purport that the media has enormous impact on the governments we ultimately elect, and I propose a scenario whereby we, as citizens, can grab our momentum back and have meaningful national conversations for our great nation on the way forward. I also suggest that to get through life, a sense of humor is an absolute necessity. Welcome to The Colors of my Life
