They were, written to encourage the members to use scriptures to expand their prayer language and to claim the promises written in the Bible. Hosea 11:4 He says "I, the LORD your God am with you, I am mighty to save, I will take great delight in you, I will quiet you with My Love, I will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17
