It was midmorning when he frantically waved to her, to warn her he had heard movement in the trees just before he dived for cover. She was fearful of orcs and had been jumping at every unexpected sound she heard all morning. She flung herself behind a tree further back so she could watch his reactions without revealing herself. She glanced around for the origin of the voice then saw him grinning at her and ran forward with tears in her eyes as she threw her arms around him. Her face turned serious as she said with a loud whisper. She looked up at him and saw the concern on his face. 'Yes we will travel together' then she turned away not wanting to show her relief. The town's people soon arrived and when they heard that he was alive. He smiled at the many faces that stood before him, 'thanks. We better start walking.' Eleven days later a call came from the watchtower. 'Large group in the field' that meant possible attack. 'Call the guard!' The Sergeant climbed the wall and looked out onto the grassy plain. He could see no horses only exhausted people with a large number of women and children. 'Ride out and talk to their leader while I organize wagons. Take some water with you
