NOTES

The sonnets presented in End Times explore the alienation of modern man from his creator, as foretold to occur before the Lord's glorious return to earth. With familiar subjects of everyday life, these poems describe with vivid imagery the tragedy of a society in which both God and natural law are denied, and the resultant conflict between the increasing temptation to view life as meaningless and God's relentless call to all mankind for transcendence to new life. But also addressed in this latest poetry collection from Joseph Mirra is the personal rebellion in the hearts of the Lord's disciples, a rebellion that each Christian is all too familiar with and contends with throughout his or her life. The final word, of course, is God's love and mercy. In End Times, we see God's continuing activity for the redemption of his creation, especially that portion that is made in his image and likeness
