Pepper, initially called Pepito, was a mixed breeds dog, also known as a mutt, which many people say is the best kind of pet to have. He had a rough time during the first several months of his life, spending much of his puppy time in a dog pound. A man who really had very little time to dedicate to caring for a puppy initially adopted him, and Pepper suffered for it. Due to the overcrowding in pounds and animal shelters, dogs are put down if they are not adopted within a predetermined period, and Pepitos days were numbered. However, he had the good fortune of being selected by a caring and loving family that gave him the type of home he deserved, and renamed him Pepper. This book, Pepper Finds a Home, is the first of a series of childrens books depicting his lifes adventures and comical disasters during his blessed fourteen years.
