Title from title frames

Over 2 million Australians are currently living with asthma. Asthma is an inflammatory condition of the airways which causes them to react to a wide range of trigger factors. In children, more boys than girls have asthma. However, after the teenage years, asthma is more common in women than men. Education tools such as these video clips, together with self-monitoring, appropriate medication, regular medical reviews and written asthma action plans, all help to promote awareness of asthma. The overall aim is to help young people manage their asthma all year round. These Speaking from experience clips offer first-hand accounts from 6 young people who are living with asthma. They discuss the impact that it has had on their lives and the ways they manage this chronic condition. It was produced in partnership with The Asthma Foundation and Aboriginal Medical Service of Western Sydney
