While making rounds treating local pets in upstate New York, veternarian Dr. Kate Turner discovers the bodies of a local couple. While police suspect a murder-suicide, Dr. Kate thinks otherwise. As she discovers many in the small community had good resons to do them in. Was the couple murdered for money their champion dog could bring to another breeder? Is the couple's money-grubbing daughter the one to blame? Or did long-buried personal secrets cause their deaths? How will Kate find the truth without being in danger herself?
