To celebrate Teen Tech Week in March, the Library's teen website is hosting a battle of the songs. All songs will be added to the the Hot Rocks playlist and webiste visitors can vote on their favorites. The winning band will receive gift cards to iTunes.

Rules

  • Songs must be 5 minutes or less.
  • Songs must be submitted in MP3 format
  • All submitters must complete the online submission form
  • The song may be attached to the submission form or be brought in person, on a CD,  to the Library's Welcome Desk
  • If submitting on a CD, attach a note with the Band's name to the CD.
  • Songs may not contain profanity or sexually explicit lyrics
  • All band members must be between the ages of 13 and 18 years of age. Adults may not be in the band.
  • Each band member must have returned to the Welcome desk a Hot Rock Consent and Release form signed by their parent/guardian
  • Songs must be submitted between March 1 and March 29, 2010.

Guidelines

  • Songs remain the property of the creating artist(s).
  • Arlington Heights Memorial Library reserves the right to use the audio during the contest and display the songs for public listening on the teen web pages for after the completion of the contest.
  • Keep a copy of your song; submissions will not be returned.

Prizes and Voting

  • The winning band will receive iTunes gift cards valuing $100.
  • Winners must come to the Library to pick up their prize.
  • Songs will appear on a playlist along with all other competitors' songs after all signed consent forms have been brought to the Welcome Desk.
  • Votes will be using a star system
  • The song receiving the highest rating (an average of the number of stars and the number of voters) will win.
  • Only one rating/person may be submitted for each song.
  • Submit your song and consent forms as soon as possible to get as many votes as you can.
  • Voting closes on March 29, 2010, 11:59 p.m.
  • Winners will be notified by phone.
