Jelly Bean Music Video

Back in November, singer/songwriter Kina Grannis, released a music video for In Your Arms from her album Stairwells. According to the statistics listed on her youtube page, this music video consisted of 288,000 jelly beans and took 22 months to create.

There is also a video of the development process that's really interesting. The video can be viewed here

Fretlight Guitar

Guitar

As of right now this is at the top of my wishlist. With the body of a Fender Stratocaster this guitar contains an LED light-up neck that makes learning new songs easier. The Fretlight is a MIDI instrument, which means you can use music programs on your computer to learn the guitar sections of a song, or learn the sections of a song for other instruments. This would also give an instructor the opportunity to play a part in a song and have it light up on your guitar for you to learn. The Fretlight Guitar is currently listed around $600, which is really not too bad for a brand new electric guitar.

Drum Kit Pants.

17 year old Aseem Mishra has captured my heart and designed an impressive invention all at the same time! Well, maybe the latter. Aseem has invented a pair of drum-kit pants, or trousers if you're from the UK. The jeans have 8 sensors that are pressure sensitive and each sensor plays a different part of a drum kit. The harder you hit the jeans the louder they play. The jeans have to be plugged into a speaker that is contained within his backpack.

Aseem went on to win a Young Engineer of the Year Award for his invention. Can't imagine why I'd ever need a pair but they look like fun.
