Battle of the Recorded Bands

How does it work?

1. Use the library’s awesome production studios to record your music.
2. Then submit your song to the contest – selected songs will be posted on our website and put to a vote.
3. The creator's song that gets the MOST VOTES will be invited to play a live gig at the library.

Each participating band must submit an entry form + release.

All those who enter the contest can pick up a bag of swag donated by School of Rock and Guitar Center in the HUB. They will also be automatically entered into a drawing for prizes provided by Guitar Center.

Sing Like a Pro!

Learn to sing like a pro! Teachers from School of Rock will work with teens on how to sing into a microphone to make vocal recordings that sound great, and show tips for editing vocal tracks to sound their very best. Come with a song you want to sing, and leave with an awesome recording of you singing that song. This is a great chance for you to perfect the vocal tracks for Battle of the Recorded Band submissions!

Register beginning Sunday, March 1, 9 a.m.
Become a Remix Master

Become a remix master! We’ll work in the Digital Production Studio to learn the basics of music production to change and add to a song that’s already started. You can change up the beat, alter the speed, and add instruments (maybe kazoo?) to make your own original remix. Your finished product might even be good enough to submit to Battle of the Recorded Bands!

Register beginning Sunday, March 1, 9 a.m.
Brand Your Band: Making Merch

Screenprint your current or future band logo onto a poster or bring your own t-shirt, canvas bag, or other item that you want to print on. We'll also be making custom buttons, stickers, magnets, and vinyl decals. Bring your own images or use our templates and graphics to design your own.
