Read for the Gold

Read for the Gold is our Summer Reading Program for adults. Join in and increase your summer fun. Win prizes and write reviews of your favorite books to share with other readers. There is no registration for this program. To have the most fun, participate an all of the four parts of the program:

- read books
- write reviews
- read reviews
- enter the prize drawing

Read Books
You pick the time and the place, we'll help with the books. Browse the collection and displays and let serendipity help with finding a book. Or, you can always check our catalog for a particular title. Is it out? Don't worry, it'll be back soon. Put a hold on it, and we'll call you when it's ready!

Write Reviews
Letting others know what you thought about a book might help them to decide whether it's worth a read. Share your thoughts and opinions in a short review either online or in writing. Written reviews may be submitted at the Welcome Desk.

The reviews you submit will be available on line. Your initials will appear with the review. We'll even add a catalog link, so others will be able to see whether the book is in, or place a hold.

Read Reviews
See what your friends and neighbors are saying about the books they read. There might be gem of a book you would never have picked up until you read what someone else had to say about it.

Prize Drawing
There are three prize drawings, one for each month of the program.

You may enter once for each of the drawings.

Enter online or complete (and return) an entry form available at the Welcome Desk.

Our online entry form is conveniently paired with the review form. So, when you submit your review, your name will be automatically be added to the prize drawing. You DO NOT, however, need to submit a review to enter the contest. You may submit more than one review, but your name will only be entered into the drawing once.

Drawing winners will be notified by phone or email and must be available to come in and pick up their prize.
