At the library
 Optelec Magnifier
A low-vision reader in the nonfiction area near the phone books. There is no need to reserve. Ask for assistance at the Reference/Answer Center.
 Motorized Scooter
Located at the Welcome Desk, the scooter may be used by patrons age 16 and older. Patrons may reserve the scooter up to a week in advance and must leave a form of identification while using it. There is no time limit for users, but the scooter may not leave the building. Questions? Call 847-506-2640.
 Wheelchair
Ask at the Welcome Desk to use the wheelchair in the library.
 Nova Cruiser Deluxe Walker
The walker is adjustable and has a basket for materials and a seat for browsing. Ask for it at the Welcome Desk. Staff will show you how to use and adjust it. Use in the library; there's no time limit.
Zoom Text
A feature that enlarges the text on the computer screen. Three of the public computers near the Computer Desk feature this software. Ask for assistance at the desk.
Teletypewriter (TTY)
Patrons using a teletypewriter may call 847-392-1119 for general library information, requests for library and interlibrary loan items, and reference questions.

At home
Library Visitor Program
Village residents who are temporarily or permanently homebound due to an illness or physical disability may have library items brought to their homes. Participants may request books, audiobooks, videos, and other materials that will be delivered monthly by a library volunteer. Call the library at 847-870-3712 to inquire, or sign up now.
Talking Book Program
Talking Books are recorded books available to those with visual, physical, or reading disabilities. This free service provides books, equipment, and catalogs. The books cover a wide range of fiction and nonfiction topics for all ages. For more information, call the library at 847-870-3712.
