I've read every Stephanie Plum novel except the last one, which obviously was not written by Evanovich. All it took was reading the first paragraph of this book to recognize it also was not written by Evanovich. It appears she is using the same collaborator but keeping her name on the book to draw sales. It may draw sales, but it has lost this reader. The language lacks the rhythm of the old books. No matter how hard he tries, the ghostwriter can't capture the tone and voice of Stephanie Plum. And in his efforts to adopt Evanovich's writing style, the whole thing falls flat.
The death knoll for Stephanie Plum's books rang long ago.
It's time to put them to rest and give an elegy.
