Business Services is growing! Our new Business Services Advisor, Julie Kittredge, is available to help you utilize the library's business resources. Julie is also a small business owner with a strong understanding of social media marketing and the unique needs of the small business owner. Please use her as a resource for one-on-one appointments for getting up to speed with social media for your business. Yelp and Google Places are social networking tools to connect customers to your business. Users can locate businesses, share reviews and connect with other customers. Business owners can claim their business on Yelp and Google Places to manage their business information, connect with customers and view user statistics.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving has become known as Small Business Saturday, an opportunity for shoppers to visit and shop at small businesses.
 
American Express founded Small Business Saturday in 2010 and in 2011 more than 100 million people shopped at small business on that day. Whether shopping or dining, customers help support local small businesses on what is regularly known as the biggest shopping weekend of the year.
