Shannon has worked in public libraries for over 13 years, her professional background includes reference, core competency training, library programming and social media marketing. She specializes in assisting small businesses and entrepreneurs with using the library’s resources and frequently presents on social media and technology. Shannon is active with the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce, local business and professional groups. She earned an MLIS from Dominican University and is a member of ILA, PLA and ALA.

Julie Kittredge - Business Services Specialist
With 17 years of experience, Julie is no stranger to the unique world of the small business owner. She established her husband’s small business as an S-Corporation and maintained the bookkeeping, payroll, marketing, and communications for 12 years. She is also a professional photographer, speaker, artist and writer and has worn every hat of the entrepreneur for the last 6 years. Julie is passionate about supporting small businesses, encouraging the local entreprenuer, and teaching creative marketing tips based on personal experience.

Susan Mayer - Specialty Services Advisor
Susan has been a small business owner for over 24 years. She is a licensed massage therapist and has maintained a massage therapy business as a “solopreneur,” taking care of all aspects of the business and evolving with new technologies. In 2014, Susan received her MLIS from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She has worked in non-fiction and genealogy reference. Along with the MLIS, she earned a graduate certificate in Special Collections focused on archives and genealogy. She is a member of ALA.
