AHML Volunteers: Making a Difference for Our Community

Since the library's volunteer program began in 1979, more than 500,000 hours of service have been contributed by this special group of individuals. "Volunteers: Adding Value on Both Sides" is an article published in the December edition of the Illinois Library Association's Reporter.  Written by our Volunteer Coordinator Caryl Medsker, it highlights many of the ways our volunteers make a difference every day.

As Caryl explains, "Our volunteers have made it possible for us to become a five-star library, offering programs and services to our community that would not be possible if we were to rely on paid staff alone. They make the Arlington Heights Memorial Library a truly special place."
