Preschool Book Bags provide customized enrichment materials which may include books, music CDs, story audiocassettes and videos chosen from the Kids' World collection. Bags typically contain 20-35 items and the loan period is four weeks. Storytimes at Your Preschool
Storytimes are provided at preschools and child care centers in Arlington Heights. The storytime presentations are approximately 20 minutes long and may be scheduled no more than once a month. Contact the Preschool Outreach Specialist at 847-870-3709.
A Storytime Visit to the Library and Tour of Kids' World Department
Any preschool or day care located in Arlington Heights may arrange for a visit by calling 847-506-2620. Groups should be no more than 30 children and must include multiple teachers/parents. Staff will lead a tour of appropriate areas in Kids' World, and then share stories through books, flannels, puppets, and movies. Participants will then receive a tour bag to take home, with items such as the library program calendar, information on how to get a library card, stickers/bookmarks and small toy. A group may tour Kids' World once per academic year.

Homeschool Open House
The Homeschool Open House is held in the spring each year at the Library. It is a very informal gathering for homeschoolers and their families to learn about programs that may be of interest, see new materials, and most importantly, to be able to interact with other local homeschoolers. This open house is usually held on a Wednesday afternoon in May.
Homeschool Library Liaison
Our Elementary/Middle School Specialist is available to help gather Library resources for a specific unit of study, for a tour of the Library, or for other special Library-related needs.
Scout Tours and Scouting Collections
Scout Tours
Arlington Heights Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops may arrange for a tour of Kids' World by calling 847-506-2620. The content of your program can be tailor-made to include activities like story programs, how to find items in the Library, or help with meeting badge requirements. Groups may vary between 6 and 20 scouts and must include more than one troop leader/parent. All the scouts will receive a tour bag to take home with items such as the library program calendar, information on how to get a library card, bookmark, pencil or a similar item. A scout group may tour Kids' World once per academic year.
